Delineation of the bone-soft tissues interface in ultrasound images

This project aimed at automatically delineating the “bone-soft tissues” interface in ultrasound images. The proposed method is based on the fusion of prior knowledge and anatomical properties which are numerically modelled. This method was validated on several types of bones (sacrum, vertebrae, femur, etc.). The registration of preoperative CT data and preoperative US data then allows the surgeon to perform surgeries in a mini-invasive way thanks to a visual guidance system.
