This project aimed at measuring the thickness of the ultrasound imaging plane.
We designed and built a measurement phantom which allows us to find the slice profile from one image. We are currently working on a second system which would also allow us to measure the slice thickness.
The final objective of this work is to propose some methods to use the profile information in 3D freehand ultrasound or in the construction of the surface of organs from ultrasound imaging.
