Computer Assisted Orbital Surgery: exophtalmia correction

This project aims at assisting the clinician for the planning of the exophtalmia surgery. This surgery consists in opening one of the orbital walls in order to evacuate some fat tissues into the sinuses and therefore to induce a backward globe displacement. Our project consists in building a biomechanical model of the orbital soft tissues and in simulating the walls opening, for a given osteotomy size defined during the surgical planning. The final goal is a quantitative prediction of the globe backward displacement in order to validate the planning and to verify that it gives the suited globe displacement.
