Four main "technical" workpackages plus one overall project work plan workpackage:

WP1 is about user body modeling.
The objective is to be able to capture the motions of the trainee during specific learning scenarios, to transfer information from a generic model to the specific anatomy of the trainee and to animate and visualize it in real time during motion. To obtain anatomically plausible visualization, capture must be robust and a multi-sensor approach will be used (task1.1). Moreover, because augmented reality will be used to super-impose information on the trainee "live" image, the anatomy transfer has to be very accurate (task 1.2).

WP2 is about 3D user interaction.
Augmented reality raise specific interaction questions especially when a mobile display is used: for instance a tablet. Task 2.1 is about handheld augmented reality and will consider several issues like continuity, ability of pointing. Because manipulating physical objects could help building mental représentations, this will be explored in task 2.2 dedicated to spatial augmented reality. A third task (task 2.3) will define new metrics for evaluation of the interaction techniques in relation to learning anatomical notions.

WP3 is about the educational content and cognitive processes involved.
Specific educational goals will be defined in task 3.1 for medicine and kinesiology students. The related concepts and anatomical models will be specified in task 3.2. Task 3.3 will create the corresponding educational scenarios to be used for knowledge acquisition and exploration and will develop suitable tools. Finally, this will be tested in laboratory conditions in Task 3.4.

WP4 will integrated scientific results and technical elements produced by WP1 and WP2 in a platform to run the scenarios defined in WP3.
The platform will enable the evaluation of An@tomy2020 on real students. Task 4.1 at the beginning of the project will enable a first exploration of possible scenarios from the viewpoint of the necessary technical elements to be build in WP1 and WP2 and will serve the specifications of the platform to be built in task 4.2. The use of the Platform for the evaluation of the educational added value of An@tomy2020 is the objective of task 4.3
